Join us on select Saturdays from 1-3:30 pm at Martin Griffin Preserve for a hands-on stewardship opportunity. You will have the chance to learn about the local flora and faunta, develop a connection to the land, and use your skills and passion to protect the preserve’s plants and animals. We will be focusing on hand-pulling invasive plants, so this is a great activity for gardeners who enjoy weeding.
Please remember to bring the following items with you:
Gloves and tools are provided. People of all levels of experience are encouraged to join, including youth volunteers who must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is also registered as a volunteer.
We will be meeting in Volunteer Canyon, maps apps don’t directly route you to the meeting location, so if you are not familiar with the area, use the coordinates provided. If you are driving over, make sure you have enough gas to make the drive home. The work sites will vary from month to month, so please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility.
For your safety, stewardship workdays may be cancelled due to red flag days, high wind events, or other dangerous weather conditions. You will be notified by email if the workday you have registered for is cancelled.
Please RSVP through registration; space is limited to 15 participants.

Great for families. Bring the kids and friends to beach cleanups and restoration projects. See where plastics end up and why it’s important to reduce plastic use and commit to more sustainable agriculture and fishing with less adverse human impact.
Be sure to RSVP, sign a waiver (if applicable) and check with the mentioned organizer to confirm details in advance.
Some snorkel, dive or beach cleanups may require proper certification and being comfortable in or around the water and familiar with water safety. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out. Mahalo 🤙
