Papahana Kuaola Community Workday

March 25 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Community Workday

It’s time to restore Waipao with your family! With your kōkua, we will remove invasive species so our native species will thrive.

Community workdays are held every third and fourth Saturday of the month from 9:00am-12:00pm. For safety reasons, Stream Workdays (3rd Saturdays) will be limited to 40 people and Lā ʻOhana Waipaoʻs (4th Saturdays) max participants will be capped at 60.

Come prepared to work outdoors.

  1. Bring a water bottle.
  2. Wear work/swim clothes (that they don’t mind getting wet or dirty). Towel and a change of clothes if needed.
  3. Wear comfortable hiking shoes, tabis, or slippers (that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty).
  4. Bring sun protection/natural sunscreen. Try to avoid sunscreens with Oxybenzone, which is known to kill coral reefs and other sea life because it is a toxic hormone disruptor.
  5. Face mask and gardening gloves.

Note: Each participant must register separately, please do not duplicate the same information for multiple tickets.

Great for families. Bring the kids and friends to beach cleanups and restoration projects. See where plastics end up and why it’s important to reduce plastic use and commit to more sustainable agriculture and fishing with less adverse human impact.

Be sure to RSVP, sign a waiver (if applicable) and check with the mentioned organizer to confirm details in advance.

Some snorkel, dive or beach cleanups may require proper certification and being comfortable in or around the water and familiar with water safety. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out. Mahalo 🤙
