NAF NorCal: Annual Beach Clean Up 2022

December 3, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm EST

Naf norcal: annual beach clean up 2022

Meet at Ocean Beach, stairwell 17 (across the street from Beach Chalet by the Queen Wilhelmina Windmill- see map below).

The Netherland-America Foundation (NAF) NorCal Chapter looks forward to our annual beach cleanup on Saturday, December 3rd! We’d like you to join us as we beautify one of our local beaches by removing trash together. Let’s give back by taking care of this magnificent beach in our backyard.

After a successful first edition, we’d like to combine all our efforts once again to keep Ocean Beach in San Francisco clean. It is imperative that we care for our oceans, beaches, and wildlife around the world, for the next generation.

We will provide garbage bags and hot coffee. Please bring your own supplies:

  • work gloves
  • tongs, grabber, or pickup stick
  • bucket for yourself or share

If the weather cooperates, you may want to arrive on bike and take a nice ride down the Great Highway. For those interested, we will go to a nearby location for lunch (location tbd).

Come lend us a hand to keep our beaches clean while meeting Dutch-American families and others interested in Dutch-American relations. Children, friends, and dogs are welcome.

Great for families. Bring the kids and friends to beach cleanups and restoration projects. See where plastics end up and why it’s important to reduce plastic use and commit to more sustainable agriculture and fishing with less adverse human impact.

Be sure to RSVP, sign a waiver (if applicable) and check with the mentioned organizer to confirm details in advance.

Some snorkel, dive or beach cleanups may require proper certification and being comfortable in or around the water and familiar with water safety. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out. Mahalo 🤙
