Be an Ocean Eco Hero. Get outside and help planet earth! Browse beach and reef cleanups, restoration projects and other events to get involved and lend a helping hand to your beach, reef or forest.
Join FillABag, Miami EcoAdventures, and the Key Biscayne Community Foundation Citizen Science Project for an impactful and unforgettable cleanup on Key Biscayne. Bring your own kayak or paddle board and a life vest/personal floatation device and join us for a guided tour into Biscayne Bay and the mangroves of Crandon Park to remove marine debris from this vital habitat. This event is funded through a grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District.
A limited number of tandem (2-person) kayaks and paddles will be available for use by Miami EcoAdventures at no charge.
Registration does not guarantee you a kayak. To reserve one, please email edward.pritchardiv@miamidade.gov or call 305-361-6767 ext. 2112 AFTER you have completed registration. Once we have assigned all the kayaks, we create a waitlist. We ask that if you change your mind and are unable to come, please contact us so we can assign your kayak to someone who is waiting.
All participants will be provided reusable gloves, buckets, bags, and guidance on the water by a team of experienced local environmentalists. Participants should wear sun protective clothing and close-toed shoes that can get wet. Please bring a reusable water bottle and wear reef-safe sunscreen. Attendees should park in the visitor parking and walk to the launch point on the south most dock.
Register at the Miami-Dade County Park Link.

Great for families. Bring the kids and friends to beach cleanups and restoration projects. See where plastics end up and why it’s important to reduce plastic use and commit to more sustainable agriculture and fishing with less adverse human impact.
Be sure to RSVP, sign a waiver (if applicable) and check with the mentioned organizer to confirm details in advance.
Some snorkel, dive or beach cleanups may require proper certification and being comfortable in or around the water and familiar with water safety. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out. Mahalo 🤙
