RSVP REQUIRED as the group size will be capped at 12 people due to the sensitivity of the location.
Who: Join the 808 Cleanups ʻOhana and the public for an afternoon of stewardship. Please note, this site is on a hillside, and participants must be able to manage their safety working on uneven terrain. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16 due to the danger of the Highway. All participants will need to fill out the waiver form at www.808cleanups.org/waiver and will need to sign in on a physical sign-in sheet at the event.
What: Invasive and non-native plant removal, trash collection. Volunteers will engage in the cutting of koa haole and removal of stumps, as well as the removal of non-native grass and others. There may be abandoned campsites that we will address accordingly.
Where: 21.321476, -157.673831 in Waimānalo. Parking along the mountainside of Kalanianaʻole Highway. Look for the brown Toyota Tacoma with the 808 Cleanups Signs.
Please have closed toe shoes, no slippers, appropriate clothing that will keep you safe from overgrown bushes, water and sun protection as needed. 808 Cleanups will provide the work supplies.
Sign off of volunteer hours available through Kimeona for this work day. Please note, this event requires us to cross the Kalanianaʻole Highway. Participants will be expected to comply with site supervisor instructions regarding traffic safety.
