How long is the clean up?
- One hour!
Where is the clean up?
- The cleanup will start on the beach side of Duke’s Waikiki. We meet down by the showers. Kalei will be wearing a teal Malama Crew shirt and will distribute supplies and explain where to go.
Where can I park?
- Parking is currently free for all of the metered parking stalls with credit card readers in Waikiki. There is also free parking along the Ala Wai and at the shell. There is also validated parking over at Ohana East. With validation, parking is $6 for 4 hours.
What time is the cleanup?
- We start at exactly 8 am and are finished at 9 am. Due to the short nature of this cleanup, please be on time!
What should I wear?
- Comfortable clothes that are breathable, it can get hot. (I suggest workout gear) and shoes that you can remove. Walking the beach in shoes can be tough! You will receive a new Malama Crew t-shirt if it is your first cleanup. If you’ve volunteered before, please wear your shirt!
What do I need to bring?
- Water bottle and sunscreen or a hat. All cleanup related supplies will be provided.
Can I bring a friend?
- Always! The more the merrier! We just ask they get a volunteer ticket too so we can make an accurate reservation.
Do I need to attend breakfast right after?
- No! We would prefer for you to join us and your new friends for breakfast after but we know that there are sometimes other commitments in the way. We can make another reservation for you, we just ask that we’re notified at the cleanup.
